10TH RALLY EDITION: OCTOBER 8 – 18, 2025

#141

Roaming Wolves

What started as reviving our late dad’s old Bronco and going on a new adventure has become something of an addiction — we love the challenge of not only improving our own skills each year, but improving the Bronco’s performance and capabilities, too. Rallying in a vintage vehicle definitely adds a whole other dimension, but we’re here for it; and doing it alongside your sister and other amazing women makes it all worthwhile.

Driver

The catalyst for us first tackling the Rebelle Rally in 2020, I’m a stay-at-home-mom to four kids and wife to my husband of 21 years, and I’ve spent the last few years getting to know the Bronco intimately, both behind the wheel and under the hood. When not driving through the desert, I enjoy spending time with my family, photography, graphic design, painting, woodworking, and getting out on the trails.

Fun Fact:

Honestly, I think the best fun fact about myself is that I do the Rebelle in a really cool early Bronco that used to be my Dad’s, alongside my sister. It’s been life-changing, and, besides raising my kids, it’s the coolest thing I’ve ever been a part of.

Why the Rebelle? Why now?

The moment I learned of the Rebelle, I thought, “Wow, that looks horribly social and out of my comfort zone; I should do that.” I’ve always craved adventure, and once I mentioned it to my sister and she instantly offered to be my teammate, it was game on, and now we’re coming back for our third consecutive year, hoping that the Bronco is improved enough to allow us more time for finding checkpoints!

Greatest adventure to date?

Ireland! Breathless landscapes, amazing people, culture, and food, and the cherry-on-top, the DRIVING. In my experience driving around Ireland for almost two weeks, the driving is courteous and structured, which was a real pleasure. I miss it and miss “having a chat” with the genuinely friendly people and I look forward to introducing my family to Ireland someday.

Despite mounting evidence suggesting perhaps I shouldn’t be, I’m our team navigator. I’m also a mama and wife, classic Hufflepuff, whiskey lover, paint-by-numbers addict, and soon-to-be immigrant (we’re moving from OR to Costa Rica in 2023!).

Favorite Quote:

“You are not supposed to be happy all the time. Life hurts and it's hard. Not because you're doing it wrong, but because it hurts for everybody. Don't avoid the pain. You need it. It's meant for you. Be still with it, let it come, let it go, let it leave you with the fuel you'll burn to get your work done on this earth.” – Glennon Doyle

Fun Fact:

While attending a work meeting at "The Da Vinci Code" author Dan Brown's home, his dog Winston brought me Dan's slipper and laid it in my lap. I also taught Dan about the phrase, "today I learned", so if you ever hear him use it, HE GOT THAT FROM ME.

Why the Rebelle? Why now?

My sis and I fell in love with the Rebelle from the start – the challenge, the camaraderie, the tuna Drew Deckman serves at the gala – and we have no intention of giving it up anytime soon. We love the way we grow and improve each year, and look forward to growing and improving in new ways in the years to come!

Who, or what, inspires you most?

Women! The way we show up, the way we push through, the way we nurture, the way we hold space, the way we prove people wrong… WOMEN.

Top three favorite podcasts / books / shows

These three books literally changed my life: Untamed by Glennon Doyle, Big Magic: Creative Living Without Fear by Liz Gilbert, and The Way of Integrity by Martha Beck. (That’s my big girl answer; my go-to answer is usually all of the Harry Potters.)

Greatest adventure to date?

Packing up the family and moving to Costa Rica! We relocate in February 2023 and are super excited for this next chapter. (Yes, I will still Rebelle!)
