We are The Wanderettes: Driver, Abby Bassett and Navigator, Beth Bowman. Abigail, (who goes by Abby) is a full-time freelance journalist who lives and works in Los Angeles. She’s got current bylines in everything from TechCrunch, Fortune, and Fast Company to Shondaland, CNN, and Forbes and covers topics that range from automotive and tech, to travel, luxury, and health & wellness. She spent 10 years covering hard news for CNN in New York and left that world in 2014, after covering everything from the beheading of journalist Daniel Pearl, to Hurricane Katrina. She transitioned to business news where she began covering automotive, travel, and culture, did some television work, and launched a whole new freelance career. Abby’s been a long-time traveler and has had the opportunity to visit places all around the world to drive brand new vehicles, explore new hotels and museums, and hike challenging trails. Her favorite things are lip balm, dogs (of really any kind), friends, great tacos, and music (in no particular order). Abby also happens to be a 500-hour certified yoga teacher. Beth Bowman, is a talented international, adventure photographer and outdoors-woman. Beth’s photos have been featured on TheDrive.com, roadandtrack.com, cycleworld.com, Digital Trends, and in Road & Track Magazine. Beth also worked in marketing as a Social Media & Marketing Specialist for the past 3 years and recently stepped into a Product Operations role for The Motley Fool. Her attention to detail makes her a competitive navigator and her creative skills help her to capture this story. Beth has an eye for detail, a compassionate heart and an infectious love of adventure. Her favorite things are guacamole, coffee, yoga, motorcycles, being outside, photography (duh), and time with close friends. Beth and Abby are excited to be first time Rebelles competing in the X-Cross class in a 2020 Porsche Cayenne S in the Bone Stock designation! As a full-time freelance journalist and professional photographer, they make the perfect pair. They are passionate about encouraging women to have adventures, every (damn) day. They believe that you’re braver than you think and that it’s important to keep it real. Life is not clean, but finding joy in the adventure is part of the sweetness of life. They are grateful to Porsche and the Rebelle for offering them the opportunity to push their boundaries, meet other amazing women and see some of the most stunning parts of the country.
