The B3 Rebelles didn’t grow up off-roading.
This year, they’ll be competing in the 2023 Rebelle Rally as Team #113 in a 2001 Land Rover Discovery named Bernard. They’re looking forward to participating in this year’s Rebelle because it will challenge them in ways they’ve never been challenged before. As Asian-American women, they take pride in representing their identities in the off-road community and as rookies, they are passionate about inspiring other women to turn their “someday dream” into a reality. As a team who have truly started from the ground up, they are excited about sharing their learning journey and the work they are putting in to achieve their goal of competing in this year’s Rebelle.

In my early 20s I was obsessed with pirate history. As a result, I have an irrational fear of scurvy. (Please make sure you consume your recommended daily intake of Vitamin C)
In 2020, I suddenly became a 40-year old widow. As cliche as it sounds, it was a real wake up call that we don’t have an infinite number of days to complete all our “someday” goals. The Rebelle has always been a someday goal ever since I first heard about it, and this was the year that all the pieces finally fell into place.
My standard answer to this question is usually Dolly Parton & Miss Piggy. They are 2 strong women who truly embrace who they are. Sure, one is a songwriter and a philanthropist and one karate chops those she finds moderately annoying, but they are both inspiring in their own ways. I strive to live a life that can make them both proud.

Earlier this year, I was finally able to see the Northern Lights in Finland. It was an amazing adventure filled with dog sledding, glass igloos, and amazing meals.
I’m a Gemini based out of LA who loves a good balance of a thoughtful plan and some adventurous spontaneity. When I’m not working, you’ll most likely catch me at my local farmer’s market, cooking, obsessing over my dogs Poppy and Potato, reading under a tree, or pruning my plants.

I recently pursued a career change from corporate advertising to a professional kitchen.
I said yes to being invited to join my teammate Marie because I wanted to do something completely out of my comfort zone with someone I love and trust. This year was all about taking risks and trying new things, so the Rebelle really aligned with this season of my life
My partner, Mike, inspires me a lot. He is the biggest source of inspiration when it comes to challenging myself and setting my sights on new goals. There’s nothing that dude can’t do, and it makes me want to constantly improve and push myself to be the best version of whatever it is I’m pursuing.

I studied abroad in Can Tho, Vietnam for half a year and then backpacked throughout Vietnam, Cambodia, and Thailand. It was a pivotal moment in my early 20s that allowed me to form a deeper connection with my Vietnamese identity and have the adventure of a lifetime.
