The Rebelle is a world-class competition at its base, but the whole package of difficulty and exclusion from the rest of the world matters to me. To complete it is to remind me that I/we can do hard things, which are very good for us. It fuels me for the whole year!

Wish I had gills. I hold a Masters in Underwater photography, it's more peaceful down there.
The Reblle is like nothing else in itself and in what it does for (and to) us as individuals, as teammates, and as women. I come back each year because it challenges me (mentally and physically), forces me to be real with myself, provides real escape from the digital world, and the women I meet may otherwise never have crossed my path. Plus, the places we get to see never suck!
People who take chances inspire me. People who have failed or been hurt but go at it again.Women who pioneered and persevered in the decades before now who were up against all odds and let their spirit drive not their fear, inspire me.Sunrises and sunsets motivate me to make the most of each day.
My favorite podcast- the sounds of nature, waves, chickadees in the sierras at sunrise, or thunder and lightning at the end of a hot ass summer day.
