10TH RALLY EDITION: OCTOBER 8 – 18, 2025

Team Tuesday 2018: Shannell & Melissa

We love our crossover class for many reasons – one being that it perfectly demonstrates that the vehicle in your driveway is more capable than you know. And we love spotlighting our crossover teams, as they’re not afraid to take these road warriors off the pavement and into our proving ground terrain. Today’s Team Tuesday is anything but afraid, and a firm believer of doing! Please welcome from Redondo Beach, CA and piloting a 2017 Subaru Forester, Shannell McMillan and Melissa McGoldrick of Team Dirt n’ Perfume!

Shannell’s hometown is Hermosa Beach, CA, but she currently lives in Redondo Beach, CA as a Business Development Manager for Andersen Windows. She also works with probationers and paroles on mission and vision for their work and lives. She’s chosen to compete in the Rebelle because…why not? Shannell told us everything outside of her comfort zone is where she has found who she truly is, and what she can actually do.

“The Rebelle seemed impossible financially and because I am directionally challenged, so instead of saving and learning everything I wrote a check. Everything has been falling into place as we move along the path. Sponsors are popping up and we are learning a lot about maps and navigating. I am a firm believer in dreaming big and am always asking myself and employees, ‘What would you do if you were 10x bolder?’ And then I encourage them to go out there and do it. Don’t wait until you are ready…say yes and let the journey unfold before you!”

Her teammate, Melissa, makes her laugh, inspires her daily with her positive attitude, knows everything about her, and loves her unconditionally. And Shannell chose their “third teammate,” the Forester, as she purchased it while on an east coast adventure, and it’s been great off-road camping vehicle with her Tepui tent!

Melissa is originally from Philadelphia, and also resides in Redondo Beach. She’s a barista by morning at Starbucks, and works in an orthopedic doctor’s office by day. And why is she competing in her first-ever Rebelle?

“The Rebelle Rally just proves to be incredibly empowering. I’d be lucky to stand beside the woman who created this, and the women who compete.”

Melissa loves to travel, and took her first trip out of the country in 2013. That trip lit a spark inside of her, and she never looked back. She stepped away from teaching music, went on to visit Thailand amongst other countries as she believes experiencing other cultures and people is something you can only learn about firsthand (agreed!).

Melissa is equally thrilled to take on the Rebelle with her teammate – “Shannell loves with her whole entire heart, always. She always takes any bad with the good. She makes me a better person every single day (we see each other every single day!).”
