We’ve got not one but three Rebelle Selects this month because when it comes to tackling challenges, whether it’s protecting your ears or getting the job done untethered, why not have the best of both worlds?
EarAngels were created by a rally-racing, concert-going, metal fabricator who also happens to be our Head of Scoring—Chrissie Beavis. Alongside her husband, professional driver and Rebelle Live Show host Matthew Johnson, they conceived the idea at a NASCAR event. Matthew noticed how awkward Chrissie’s foam earplugs looked next to her dangling earrings and quipped, “Chrissie, you need some earplugs that attach to those earrings.” Unable to hear him clearly, Chrissie replied, “What?!”, then yanked out the foam plugs, dropped them, and declared, “I need earplugs that protect my hearing and still let me hear you!” And just like that, EarAngels took flight.

Even in a High Tech World, Navigation Skills Matter
Since the inception of the Rebelle Rally, we’ve been talking about what to do when technology fails. Do you have the skills to navigate when your GPS goes dark or when the digital maps are no longer an option? A great read on why navigation skills are so important is laid out in detail by Dr. John Huth in “The Lost Art of Finding Our Way.” John Edward Huth is the Donner Professor of Science in the Physics Department at Harvard University and begins with a story of personal survival followed by a perfectly woven tale of history, science and exploration.
